You do not need a ball or net to play in pickup events, however you need need appropriate footwear. If you do want your own ball (or net) you can find our recommended equipment below.

Outdoor Equipment
For outdoors, you don't need much equipment. If you come to any Philly Volleyball events/competitions, we'll supply nets and balls for attendees, so all you need is proper footwear.
The most common recommendation for footwear is to get a pair of trail running shoes. They're topically lightweight, provide good support and have good traction. Many places don't allow full cleats as they damage the grass and pose a ricks to players that choose to play barefoot.
